The House Behind SpeedScaling
A different kind of investment and advisory platform.
MAA sits between venture capital, M&A advisory and regional business building. Rather than operating as a pure investor or a pure advisory firm, the platform combines both — creating a connected model where transactions, capital and incubation continuously strengthen one another.
MAA brings decades of entrepreneurial and operating experience alongside visionary founders building technology companies across regional and global markets.
MAA combines venture investment with an M&A advisory arm, creating a platform that can advise on transactions while investing its own capital.
Partners invest their own capital alongside LPs, aligning the interests of the platform with the outcomes of the businesses it backs.
Advisory creates deal flow, incubation de-risks early opportunities and the investment platform provides capital to the strongest companies.
Where relevant, MAA can offer Islamic-finance structuring subject to specialised counsel, broadening access across the region.
The philosophy is simple: compress years of potential into months of performance through capital, expertise, networks and decisive execution.
One Corridor. Massive Opportunity.
Built around the GCC–MENA–Türkiye connection.
The GCC is deploying capital at scale while Türkiye brings deep technology and entrepreneurial talent. MAA is positioned at the intersection, creating a regional bridge for founders, investors and corporates navigating one of the world's most dynamic growth corridors.
The Gulf provides significant capital, institutional networks and expanding demand across technology, infrastructure, energy and financial services.
Türkiye adds a deep pool of founders, engineers, industrial capability and technology businesses seeking access to larger regional markets.
MAA is designed to connect these ecosystems through capital, advisory relationships and practical market access.
The platform is domiciled within the Qatar Financial Centre, providing an institutional framework for regional and international capital.
GCC/MENA and Türkiye are the core geography, with opportunistic global deployment where the investment thesis fits.
The corridor is entering a period of accelerating capital deployment, digital transformation, infrastructure development and cross-border investment.
The Platform at a Glance
Three engines. One integrated platform.
MAA's structure is designed to create advantages that a conventional fund or boutique advisory firm cannot easily replicate. Capital, transactions and incubation operate as interconnected parts of one platform.
A partner-funded venture platform of QAR 100M, with an investment focus spanning Pre-Seed, Seed and Series A opportunities.
A fee-earning advisory arm covering sell-side and buy-side mandates, capital raising, valuations, strategic advisory and deal structuring.
A regional venture studio and accelerator hybrid planned for launch in 2027, designed to develop companies specifically for GCC market realities.
Advisory creates proprietary transaction flow while investment capital allows MAA to participate directly in the opportunities it believes in.
The Launchpad creates an additional pipeline of early-stage companies that can progress into the investment platform.
Each engine feeds the others, creating a compounding ecosystem around sourcing, diligence, capital and commercial access.
Where We Invest
Six sectors shaped by structural growth.
MAA focuses on sectors where technology, capital and regional transformation intersect. The portfolio spans 18 companies across six distinct sectors, creating exposure to multiple growth themes across the corridor.
Digital payments, wallets, banking-as-a-service and financial infrastructure serving rapidly evolving MENA markets.
Electric mobility, green transportation, sovereign AI infrastructure and technologies supporting the region's sustainability transition.
Strategic investment opportunities across fintech, AI, real estate, infrastructure and technology-led regional businesses.
Commercial holdings, investment trading and renewable energy products positioned around regional supply and demand shifts.
Banking infrastructure, electronic payments, AI-powered digital banking, mobility, sports technology and enterprise automation.
Large-scale commercial and residential development, asset management and strategic property opportunities across Saudi Arabia.
How We Invest
Seven stages. One disciplined path from screen to portfolio.
MAA combines speed with investment discipline. Opportunities move through a defined seven-stage process designed to test thesis fit, commercial potential, ownership economics, risk and long-term portfolio value.
Initial assessment of thesis fit, investment stage and geography.
Detailed examination of the market, team, business model and unit economics.
The Investment Committee evaluates the investment memo and determines whether to pass or proceed.
Valuation, ownership, rights and commercial terms are established before commitment.
Legal, financial, ESG and Sharia considerations are examined before closing.
Documentation, funds flow and governance arrangements are completed.
MAA supports reporting, follow-on investment, strategic development and eventual exit.
The Deal Flow Advantage
Proprietary access before the wider market.
MAA's sourcing strategy is designed to move beyond conventional open-market deal flow. The advisory arm, incubator, regional ecosystem and corporate relationships create multiple channels for discovering and validating opportunities.
Advisory and incubation are the first-priority sourcing channels, creating opportunities that emerge directly from MAA's own platform.
Relationships with QFC, QSTP, QDB, accelerators, angel networks and universities provide access to emerging companies across the corridor.
Regional corporates can act as scouts, co-investors and pilot customers, helping validate commercial traction before Investment Committee review.
Relationships with regional and global venture firms support syndication, later funding rounds and broader exit pathways.
The ecosystem model is designed to create a substantial annual screening universe from which the highest-conviction opportunities can emerge.
Access to corporate networks can help portfolio companies move beyond investment readiness toward real customers, partnerships and distribution.
The Portfolio
18 companies. 6 sectors. One connected corridor.
MAA's portfolio spans fintech, sustainability, private placement, trading, technology and real estate. Together, these businesses represent the platform's thesis in action — companies positioned around major transformations across regional and global markets.
Paynow, Cwallet, Five٥ and DINAR PAY cover digital payments, wallets, Islamic digital banking and payment infrastructure across North Africa, Qatar and Iraq.
EcoTranzit, AILO and Alaeddin address electric transportation, sovereign AI infrastructure and commercial electric vehicle manufacturing across Qatar, Europe and Türkiye.
Doha Venture Group and ILA provide exposure to strategic investment, technology, fintech, AI, infrastructure and businesses progressing toward potential public-market outcomes.
Doha Holding Group and Doha Power operate across commercial holdings, trading and renewable energy opportunities.
BankNBox, XPI, FirstFintech Corporation, Tranzitup, FAN4ALL and IGOT.AI span financial infrastructure, AI, smart mobility, fan engagement and enterprise automation.
Alghadir Real Estate represents MAA's exposure to large-scale property development and strategic real estate opportunities in Saudi Arabia.
The portfolio is not simply a collection of companies; MAA's model is designed to create introductions, commercial relationships, co-investment opportunities and regional distribution pathways between businesses.
Capital Discipline
Growth requires discipline, not FOMO.
MAA's investment framework is built around portfolio construction, ownership discipline and realistic return expectations. The strategy accepts the power-law nature of venture investing while protecting the fund from excessive concentration.
The fund-level target is a net MOIC of 2.5–3.5x and a net IRR of 20–30% over the fund life, measured net of fees and carried interest.
MAA assumes that 30–50% of investments may return less than 1x, with successful investments expected to compensate for losses.
Advisory income is designed to help de-risk the early fund years and reduce dependence on portfolio marks during the initial J-curve period.
Entry pricing is based on triangulated comparables and realistic ownership-at-exit mathematics rather than FOMO-driven valuations.
40–50% of the fund is reserved for follow-on investment into companies that demonstrate increasing value or approach strategic exits.
The target is 12–20 core positions, balancing meaningful ownership and influence with diversification.
No single investment should exceed 10–12% of committed capital, limiting the impact of any individual position on overall fund performance.
Beyond Investment
Advisory creates another layer of value.
MAA does not stop at writing a cheque. Through its advisory platform, the firm works with companies and stakeholders on transactions, capital formation, valuations and strategic growth — while creating proprietary insight and relationships for the wider platform.
MAA supports sell-side and buy-side transactions, with two transactions already closed and ongoing mandates across energy, real estate and technology.
Private placement services connect regional companies seeking strategic or growth capital with GCC investors and family offices.
Fairness opinions and valuation work support board decisions, regulatory submissions and investor negotiations.
MAA advises on joint ventures, market entry and corporate development for regional and multinational clients.
Advisory provides MAA with direct exposure to corporate needs, market movements and transaction opportunities across the corridor.
Fee income from advisory helps support the platform during the early years while simultaneously generating proprietary investment opportunities.
MAA Launchpad
Building the next generation from inside the corridor.
Launching in 2027, MAA Launchpad is designed as a venture studio and accelerator hybrid built specifically for the GCC and its surrounding markets. The model combines capital, services and regional soft-landing support rather than importing a conventional Silicon Valley template.
The Launchpad is built around the commercial realities, networks and market-entry requirements of the GCC.
The planned structure is 6–10 startups per cohort, with two cohorts each year and a 4–6 month programme.
Selected startups can receive USD 25K–75K alongside strategic services in exchange for 5–10% equity.
Founders gain support entering the GCC ecosystem through regional networks and QSTP-related opportunities.
The strongest Launchpad graduates can receive first right to a Seed investment from MAA.
A dedicated corridor is intended to help Turkish founders access GCC capital, customers and commercial relationships.
Why MAA
Six reasons the best founders choose us first.
MAA's differentiation comes from the combination of speed, regional relationships, institutional credibility, operator experience and aligned capital. It is a model designed to be useful beyond the investment committee.
SpeedScaling is an operating discipline, with the ambition to make Investment Committee decisions in days rather than months and issue term sheets rapidly when the thesis fits.
GCC, MENA and Türkiye are not simply geographic labels; MAA is built around relationships and practical regional access.
The QFC structure provides an institutional framework designed for engagement with LPs, banks, corporates and sovereign-linked partners.
Portfolio companies can access introductions to potential customers, co-investors and distribution partners through MAA's wider network.
Advisory income supports platform operations in the early years while keeping investment capital focused on portfolio opportunities.
Partners invest their own money alongside LPs, creating direct alignment between the platform and the outcomes of its investments.
Foundation to Reference Platform
Building the platform from 2025 to 2028 and beyond.
MAA's roadmap moves from platform establishment and portfolio construction toward incubation, external capital and eventual exits. The objective is to become the reference venture-and-advisory house for the GCC/MENA–Türkiye corridor.
Establish the QFC platform, build the initial capital base and activate the advisory engine.
Build the portfolio toward 18 companies across six sectors while strengthening QFC and QSTP ecosystem relationships.
Launch the regional incubator, begin the first cohort and secure initial third-party LP commitments.
Pursue initial portfolio exits through trade sales, secondaries or IPOs while preparing the next phase of fund deployment.
Establish MAA as the recognised hybrid VC and advisory platform for founders, LPs and corporates operating across the GCC/MENA–Türkiye corridor.
